DEVELOPING YOUTH THROUGH CLIMBING
CANMORE INDOOR CLIMBING SOCIETY (CICS)
The Canmore Indoor Climbing Society (CICS) provides opportunities for young climbers in the Bow Valley to develop their skills and passion for the sport of indoor climbing through our Youth Climbing Team.
CICS offers programming for youth aged 9 to 18, with levels ranging from skill refinement to high-performance competition. While competing is not mandatory for all teams, CICS training is based on preparing for the competition season and fostering well-rounded physical development.
CICS was created in 2008 and registered under the Societies Act. CICS’s primary focus is the Canmore Youth Climbing Team. Our volunteer board is responsible for overseeing programming, setting fees, hiring coaches, renting gym space, and fundraising.
CICS ATHLETES
CICS athletes learn teamwork, perseverance and commitment. Our athletes are supportive of their teammates' needs and goals, committed to their own personal development, and responsive to coaching while remaining adaptable.
Developing skills, strengths, and a competitive edge in a supportive and inclusive environment.
